Effective date: April 4, 2026

These General Terms of Use (the Terms) govern access to and use of the digital service known as Ukhti (the Platform), published by Louala, trading as Ihsan Labs (the Publisher, we, us, or our).

By accessing the Platform, creating an account, or using any account-based or public feature, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

1. Scope and related documents

These Terms apply to the public website, localized public pages, account-based areas, hosted mobile wrappers that load the same online service, and related technical interfaces made available by the Publisher.

These Terms must be read together with the following documents, where applicable:

  • the Legal Notice, for publisher and hosting information;
  • the Privacy Policy, for personal-data processing;
  • the Cookie Policy, for cookies and similar technologies; and
  • the Terms of Sale, for paid subscriptions or other services sold directly by the Publisher.

If a paid service is sold directly by the Publisher, the Terms of Sale prevail for matters specifically relating to price, billing, withdrawal rights, renewal, cancellation, and refunds.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

  • Account means the personal access space created to use account-based features of the Platform.

  • User, you, or your means any natural person who accesses or uses the Platform.
  • User Content means Content that a User uploads, posts, sends, stores, shares, lists, or otherwise makes available through the Platform.

3. Nature of the Platform

The Platform is an online community service currently designed for Muslim women and offering, depending on the features enabled and the User's status, tools and areas such as:

  • profile, publication, comment, reaction, friend, follow, messaging, and notification features;
  • groups, events, and localized discovery tools, including map-based features;
  • teaching and community-learning features;
  • a marketplace area for listings and user-to-user contact;
  • publisher-operated paid subscriptions and premium statuses; and
  • optional donation or support pages.

The Platform may evolve over time. We may add, remove, suspend, or modify features, interfaces, or technical components, especially for legal, security, operational, or product reasons.

4. Eligibility and account registration

4.1 Intended audience

The account-based areas of the Platform are intended for Muslim women. By creating or using an Account, you represent that you belong to the audience for which the service is designed and that the information and confirmations you provide during registration are truthful.

4.2 Minimum age

You must be at least 13 years old to create or use an Account.

If, under the law applicable to you, you are below the age at which you may validly consent on your own to the processing of personal data or enter into the relevant service agreement on your own, you may use the Platform only with the authorization or involvement required by that law.

For example, for Users in France, special rules may apply to minors under 15 years old for consent-based personal-data processing.

4.3 Registration requirements

To create an Account, you must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information requested by the Platform and keep that information updated when necessary.

You must not:

  • create an Account using false identity information;
  • impersonate another person;
  • create multiple Accounts for abusive, deceptive, or circumvention purposes; or
  • allow another person to use your Account as if it were their own.

4.4 Verification and eligibility checks

The Publisher may use reasonable verification, fraud-prevention, moderation, or eligibility-preservation measures during or after registration, including email confirmation, account review, automated signals, and other checks appropriate to the Platform's community purpose and security needs.

Where a verification step is required to complete or maintain access, your refusal, failure, or inability to complete that step may result in refusal of registration, restricted access, suspension, or account closure.

5. Account security and access conditions

5.1 Personal and non-transferable access

Your Account is personal to you. Unless expressly authorized by the Publisher, you may not sell, lend, transfer, sublicense, or share your access credentials.

5.2 Credential security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for taking reasonable measures to secure the devices and channels through which you access the Platform.

You must notify us without undue delay at Security contact if you suspect unauthorized access, credential compromise, or misuse of your Account.

5.3 Technical prerequisites

You are responsible for your own internet access, devices, operating systems, browser or application configuration, and telecommunications costs. Some features may depend on geolocation, microphone, push-notification, media-upload, or third-party-service permissions.

5.4 Availability

We use reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability. The Platform may be slowed, interrupted, or unavailable for maintenance, updates, incidents, cyber-security events, third-party outages, or force-majeure events.

6. Acceptable use and prohibited conduct

You must use the Platform lawfully, fairly, and consistently with the service's community purpose.

You must not, including by attempt or by assisting another person:

  • publish, transmit, store, or promote unlawful, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, fraudulent, deceptive, violent, sexually explicit, exploitative, or privacy-infringing content;
  • publish or offer goods, services, or activities that are unlawful, dangerous, counterfeit, infringing, misleading, or otherwise prohibited by applicable law or by the Platform's community standards;
  • harass, threaten, extort, stalk, intimidate, or abuse another User;
  • impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, affiliation, status, qualifications, location, or authority;
  • collect, scrape, index, mine, or extract data from the Platform by unauthorized automated means;
  • probe, scan, test, bypass, or compromise the security, integrity, or availability of the Platform or any related network, infrastructure, or account;
  • upload malware, malicious code, or harmful files, or interfere with the normal operation of the Platform;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code, underlying models, or non-public logic, except where such restriction is prohibited by mandatory law;
  • circumvent access controls, moderation measures, eligibility checks, rate limits, or feature restrictions;
  • use the Platform for spam, unsolicited commercial solicitation, mass messaging, or manipulative engagement tactics;
  • use the Platform in a manner that infringes intellectual-property rights, image rights, privacy rights, consumer rights, or database rights; or
  • use the Platform in a way that is inconsistent with the rights, safety, dignity, or legitimate expectations of other Users.

We may publish or update supplementary community, marketplace, teaching, or safety rules from time to time. Those supplementary rules form part of the contractual framework applicable to the relevant feature.

7. User Content

7.1 Responsibility for User Content

You remain solely responsible for the User Content that you create, upload, post, share, list, message, or otherwise make available through the Platform.

You represent and warrant that, for each item of User Content, you have all rights, permissions, consents, and lawful bases necessary to:

  • make that User Content available through the Platform;
  • grant the license described below;
  • allow the relevant recipients to access it according to your settings and the Platform's operation; and
  • avoid infringement of any third-party rights or violation of applicable law.

7.2 Ownership

As between you and the Publisher, you retain your rights in your User Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your User Content to the Publisher.

7.3 License granted to the Publisher

To operate the Platform and the features you choose to use, you grant the Publisher a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable only as necessary for business continuity, and sublicensable only to service providers acting on the Publisher's behalf license to host, store, reproduce, cache, process, adapt, format, translate where technically necessary, display, communicate, make available, index, distribute, moderate, and back up your User Content.

This license is limited to what is reasonably necessary to:

  • provide and improve the Platform;
  • display the User Content to recipients selected by your settings or by the relevant feature;
  • operate publication, messaging, sharing, search, discovery, preview, anti-abuse, safety, and moderation functions;
  • comply with legal obligations, requests from competent authorities, and legitimate security needs; and
  • maintain technical archives, backups, and logs.

For User Content that you make public or semi-public through the Platform, you acknowledge that it may be displayed, re-shared, quoted, indexed, or previewed within the normal operation of the relevant feature.

7.4 End of the license

The license granted above ends when the relevant User Content is deleted from the active service by you or by the Publisher, except to the extent that retention remains necessary for:

  • backups and reasonable technical residual copies;
  • evidence, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or security investigations;
  • legal retention obligations; or
  • cases where other Users have lawfully stored, quoted, or re-shared the content through the service before deletion.

8. Reporting, moderation, and enforcement

8.1 Reporting channels

Certain content, users, messages, events, groups, listings, or other activity may be reported through in-product reporting tools when available. Manifestly unlawful or otherwise reportable content may also be reported by email to Abuse reports.

To help us process a notice efficiently, a report should include, where possible:

  • the exact URL, identifier, or location of the content or account concerned;
  • a description of the issue and why the content is considered unlawful or contrary to these Terms;
  • any relevant supporting evidence;
  • the name and contact details of the reporting person, where needed for follow-up; and
  • for legal notices, a statement that the information provided is accurate to the best of the reporting person's knowledge.

8.2 Moderation methods

The Publisher may use a combination of automated tools, heuristic signals, integrity checks, manual review, and user reports to detect or review content and behavior that may be unlawful, unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, or incompatible with these Terms.

Automated tools may help prioritize, flag, or temporarily restrict content or accounts, but the Publisher may also use human review, especially for escalated or sensitive cases.

8.3 Measures that may be taken

If the Publisher reasonably believes that content or conduct is unlawful, unsafe, abusive, deceptive, or contrary to these Terms, the Publisher may take proportionate measures including:

  • refusing publication or upload;
  • restricting visibility or distribution;
  • labeling, warning, or requesting correction;
  • removing or disabling access to content;
  • restricting access to a feature;
  • temporarily suspending an Account; or
  • permanently terminating an Account.

8.4 Abuse of reporting tools

You must not submit notices or reports that are knowingly false, abusive, repetitive without serious basis, or intended to harass another person or manipulate moderation outcomes. Abuse of reporting tools may itself lead to restrictions or sanctions.

8.5 Review of moderation decisions

If your content, feature access, or Account is restricted or suspended, you may request a review by contacting Legal contact from the email address associated with your Account and by providing the relevant identifiers and explanation.

Where applicable law requires it, or where reasonably possible in view of the circumstances, the Publisher may provide the reasons for the relevant decision and information about available avenues of redress.

8.6 Serious threats and law-enforcement cooperation

If the Publisher becomes aware of information giving rise to a reasonable suspicion of a criminal offence involving a threat to the life or safety of a person, the Publisher may notify the competent authorities and preserve or disclose the information required by law.

9. Feature-specific conditions

9.1 Marketplace

Unless a listing, offer, or checkout flow is expressly identified as being sold directly by the Publisher, the marketplace area is a user-to-user intermediation feature only. The Publisher is not the seller, buyer, reseller, consignee, broker, agent, or contracting party to transactions concluded directly between Users.

Sellers and buyers are solely responsible for:

  • the lawfulness, safety, conformity, and accuracy of offers;
  • pricing, taxes, invoicing, delivery, returns, and warranties where applicable;
  • the legality of goods and services offered in the relevant territory; and
  • their own contractual and consumer-law obligations to one another.

9.2 Teaching and community-learning features

Teachers, speakers, or course organizers remain responsible for the accuracy, legality, quality, and suitability of the educational or informational content they provide. Unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific offering, the Publisher does not act as an accredited academic institution and does not issue state-recognized diplomas or professional certifications.

9.3 Events, groups, and localized discovery

Organizers and participants remain responsible for the legality, safety, and practical organization of events, meetings, groups, and location-related interactions. You must not disclose another person's location, personal details, or attendance information without a valid right to do so.

The Publisher is not responsible for offline interactions, travel, accommodation, transportation, bodily injury, property damage, or disputes arising between Users in connection with events or meetings arranged through the Platform.

9.4 Paid subscriptions and premium statuses

Paid subscriptions, premium statuses, or other paid services sold directly by the Publisher are governed by the relevant checkout information and by the Terms of Sale. Access to premium features may be suspended or withdrawn if the related Account is suspended, closed, or no longer eligible under these Terms.

9.5 Donations and support payments

Where the Platform offers donation or support paths, such payments are voluntary unless expressly described otherwise. A donation does not transfer any ownership interest in the Platform and does not create any rights beyond those expressly described at the time of the relevant payment flow.

10. Third-party services and external content

The Platform may integrate, embed, or link to third-party services, including identity providers, payment providers, video services, maps, donation widgets, or other external resources.

In particular, based on the current implementation, certain features may involve providers such as Google, Mollie, Ko-fi, YouTube, OpenStreetMap, or similar third parties.

When you use or load those features:

  • the relevant third party may apply its own terms, privacy rules, and technical conditions;
  • the Publisher does not control the independent legal documents or practices of those third parties; and
  • service interruptions, payment issues, or content issues caused by those third parties may fall primarily under their responsibility.

11. Intellectual property

11.1 Rights of the Publisher

Except for User Content and third-party elements owned by their respective right holders, the Platform's structure and original elements, including source code, software components, interfaces, texts, page layouts, databases, graphics, logos, visual identity, and non-user editorial content, are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and remain reserved to the Publisher or the relevant right holder.

11.2 Limited right to use the Platform

Subject to these Terms, the Publisher grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose.

11.3 Prohibited acts

Except where mandatory law permits otherwise, you may not reproduce, extract, scrape, adapt, distribute, sell, license, frame, mirror, reverse engineer, or create derivative or competing services from all or part of the Platform without prior written authorization from the relevant right holder.

12. Personal data and privacy settings

The Platform processes personal data as described in the Privacy Policy and uses cookies and similar technologies as described in the Cookie Policy.

The Platform includes account, visibility, messaging, notification, safety, and localization features. You are responsible for the choices you make in relation to publication visibility, profile visibility, and the disclosure of personal information about yourself or others.

If you upload, publish, message, or otherwise disclose personal data of another person, you must ensure that you have a valid legal basis and the right to do so.

13. Suspension, termination, and deletion

13.1 By the User

You may stop using the Platform at any time. Where the functionality is available, you may request deletion of your Account through the settings area of the Platform.

13.2 By the Publisher

The Publisher may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to all or part of the Platform, or remove User Content, where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, safety, security, fraud prevention, moderation, service integrity, community protection, or enforcement of these Terms.

13.3 Effects

Upon account deletion or termination, access to account-based features ends. Some information may nevertheless be retained where necessary for backups, legal compliance, dispute handling, security, fraud prevention, accounting, or evidentiary purposes, as described in the Privacy Policy and to the extent permitted by law.

14. Liability

14.1 Publisher role

The Publisher provides the Platform as a technical and community service. User Content, user behavior, user listings, user courses, user messages, user events, and user transactions remain primarily the responsibility of the Users involved.

14.2 No guarantee of uninterrupted service or user behavior

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Publisher does not guarantee:

  • continuous, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of the Platform;
  • that all User Content will be accurate, lawful, reliable, or suitable for your purposes;
  • that all harmful or unlawful behavior will be detected or prevented; or
  • the performance of third-party services or of contracts concluded directly between Users.

14.3 Excluded areas of responsibility

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Publisher shall not be liable for losses or damage arising primarily from:

  • User Content or User conduct;
  • disputes between Users or between a User and a third party;
  • marketplace, teaching, event, donation, or payment issues not directly caused by the Publisher's own fault;
  • the unavailability or malfunction of third-party services, networks, platforms, or payment environments;
  • your own failure to secure credentials, devices, or communications; or
  • your use of the Platform in breach of these Terms or of applicable law.

14.4 Mandatory rights preserved

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, consumer rights, data-protection rights, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under mandatory law.

15. Changes to the Platform or to these Terms

The Publisher may update these Terms to reflect legal, technical, operational, or business changes, including changes to the Platform's features, moderation practices, payment architecture, or corporate organization.

The version in force is the version published on the Platform with its effective date. If a change materially affects Users' rights or obligations, the Publisher may use reasonable notice measures appropriate to the context, such as an in-product notice, banner, or email.

Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of an updated version constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where mandatory law requires another form of consent.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by French law.

This choice of law does not deprive consumer Users of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of their habitual residence where such protection cannot be derogated from by agreement.

Before initiating formal proceedings, you are encouraged to contact the Publisher at Legal contact in order to seek an amicable resolution.

Any dispute relating to these Terms or to the use of the Platform shall be submitted to the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law. Mandatory consumer-jurisdiction rules remain unaffected.

If a dispute concerns a paid service sold directly by the Publisher and mandatory consumer law grants access to consumer mediation or similar redress mechanisms, the relevant information is provided in the applicable sales documentation and pre-contractual information.
